AND WHEREAS K J Z T FAMILY LIFE'S SOCIETIES PERFORMED MANY RELIGIOUS CHARITABLE CULTURAL AND PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT TEXAS. WHEREOF HERE TO SET MY HAND AND CAUSED A SEAL OF THE CITY OF, TO BE A FIXED DOES NOT. THEY HAVE JUNE 20, 22. THAT'S SUPPOSED TO HAVE THAT ROSA, YOU POSTED SIGN IT. OKAY. LAST TIME. SO I THINK WE HAVE SOME FOLKS HERE THAT ARE GOT TO ACCEPT THIS PROCLAMATION. IF COUNCIL WANTS TO COME DOWN TO STICKY THAT FELL ON THE FLOOR. NO, IT'S STUCK ON YOUR SHIRT. I'LL JUST TAKE IT OFF, TAKE IT OFF. YEAH, IT WAS STILL ON THE PROPER LICENSE. I FIGURED THEY WANTED THE STICKY. OKAY. UH, THE NEXT ITEM WILL BE BRASS PORT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, ANNUAL TOURISM REPORT AND REQUEST FOR CONTINUED FUNDING FOR THEIR MARKETING EFFORTS. WE HAVE MRS. FISHER AND MS. SENATOR SHAW HERE WITH US THIS EVENING AND MS. FISHER WILL GIVE US HER PRESENTATION. [00:10:14] UH, I'M EDITH MISHER. I'M THE DIRECTOR OF TOURISM FOR THE RESTAURANT CONVENTION VISITORS COUNCIL. I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW, UM, ABOUT OUR ACTIVITIES LAST YEAR, HOW WE SPENT THE TAX FUNDS WE RECEIVED FROM THE CITY UM, WHERE, UH, WE ARE DIVISION OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, OF BREAST SUPPORT AREA CHAMBER. WE REMOTE THE BREAST SUPPORT AREAS OF LEISURE DESTINATION. WE CARRY OUT A STRATEGIC PLAN THAT OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS PUT TOGETHER. WE MAKE AN ANNUAL PRESENTATION TO YOU AND SUBMIT QUARTERLY REPORTS TO LET YOU KNOW HOW WE RECEIVED THE TAX FUNDS WE RECEIVE. WE ARE FUNDED BY HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX COLLECTED THAT ONLY INCLUDE, BUT ALSO IN FREEPORT, LIKE JACKSON SURFSIDE BEACH, AND WE GET GENERAL FUNDS FROM QUINTANA. SO THESE ARE THE PROPERTIES IN CLIQUE THAT WE PROMOTE. WE TRY TO GET VISITORS TO COME IN TO THE AREA AND SPEND THE NIGHT IN THESE HOTELS SO THAT WE CAN GROW THAT HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUND. ONE WAY WE PROMOTE THE AREA IS WORK WITH INDUSTRY PARTNERS, WHICH INCLUDE OUR LOCAL ATTRACTIONS, OUR COUNTY PARKS DEPARTMENT, A LOT OF STATE AGENCIES. UM, THE LONESTAR COASTAL ALLIANCE IS A REGIONAL MARKETING INITIATIVE MADE UP OF PARTNERS IN CHAMBERS COUNTY, JEFFERSON COUNTY, GALVESTON COUNTY, BRAZORIA COUNTY, AND MATAGORDA COUNTY. SO ALL THE WAY FROM MATAGORDA TO BEAUMONT, WE WANT, UM, TO PROMOTE VISITORS TO OUR WHOLE REGION, TO THIS PART OF THE GOALPOST ALSO AROUND HOUSTON IS ANOTHER RETURNAL REGIONAL MARKETING INITIATIVE INITIATIVE THAT WE WORK WITH. IT'S MADE UP OF ABOUT 14 PARTNERS WITHIN THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA. SO IF WE CAN GET PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY INTERNATIONAL VISITORS TO HOUSTON, INSTEAD OF HAVING THEM SPEND A FEW DAYS IN HOUSTON AND THEN GO TO DALLAS AND SAN ANTONIO, WE WANT THEM TO STAY IN THE HOUSTON AREA AND MAYBE COME TO OUR AREA AND STAFF ANOTHER WAY TO PROMOTE THE AREAS THROUGH SHOWS AND CONFERENCES. THE TEXAS TRAVEL ALLIANCE TRAVEL FAIR IS ATTENDED BY TRAVEL COUNSELORS THAT WORK WITH THE TRAVEL INFORMATION CENTERS AT THE ENTRY POINTS AROUND THE STATE. IT'S ALSO ATTENDED BY PARK MANAGERS THAT WORK FOR TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE, AND THEN LARGER CITY, UM, VISITOR INFORMATION CENTERS. THIS HAS AN APPOINTMENT STYLE SHOW HAVE ABOUT FIVE TO SEVEN MINUTES TO LET THESE COUNSELORS KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE GRASS AND SUPPORT AREA. UH, MANY OF THEM HAVE BEEN THERE FOR A LONG TIME, SO THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE RAZZLE SPORT AREAS. SO IT'S A GREAT CHANCE TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT'S NEW IN THE AREA AND UPDATE THEM ON OUR EVENTS SHOWED A MARK BROCHURES LAST YEAR, IT WAS VIRTUAL, BUT THIS YEAR WE WERE ABLE TO MEET THE PERSON, THE DALLAS TRAVELING, THE VENTURE SHOW. WE DID THAT LAST FALL, AND THAT WAS THE FIRST IN-PERSON CONSUMER SHOW THAT WE HAVE DONE SINCE JANUARY, 2020, AND THEN, UM, THE TEXAS STATE FAIR. SO THAT GOES ON FOR THREE WEEKS IN OCTOBER, WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE OUR BROCHURES THERE THE ENTIRE TIME AT THE HERITAGE, TEXAS HERITAGE TRAILS BOOTH. AND THEN ON OCTOBER 12TH AND 13TH, WE SPONSORED THOSE TWO DAYS AND HAD RESTORATIVE COUNTY DAY AT THE STATE FAIR AND THE COUNTY PARKS DEPARTMENT, SINCE THE DESCENT, ONE OF THEIR PARK RANGERS TO, UH, WORK THE SHOW IN PERSON. SO ADVERTISEMENT PROMOTION, WE HAD PAID ADS, EDITORIAL SCORE, COMPLIMENTARY LISTINGS, AND THESE PUBLICATIONS AND WEBSITES. UM, THERE'S SOME EXAMPLE OF WHAT OUR ADS LOOK LIKE. WE PROMOTE THE WATER, WE CAN GET PEOPLE TO THE WATER AND THEN WE CAN GET THEM INTO OUR OTHER ATTRACTIONS. AND WE ALWAYS INCLUDE OUR WEBSITE IN EACH OF OUR CITIES ON OUR WEBSITE IS ARRESTS WORK.COM RECEIVED OVER 126,000 VIEWS LAST YEAR. UM, ONCE VISITORS BACK TO THE WEBSITE TO THE TOP PAGES, THEY SEARCH WHERE THE BEACHES FISHING, STAYING EVENTS, CONVERTING THE VISITORS TO THE WEBSITE WERE FROM HOUSTON, DALLAS, FORT WORTH AUSTIN, SAN ANTONIO CALL STATION. AND THOSE ARE OUR TOP MARKETS AS WELL. UH, THE TOP REFERRING SITES TO OUR WEBSITE OR SOCIAL MEDIA OR FACEBOOK VISIT HOUSTON, TEXAS.COM, SEARCH SIDE SURFSIDE, A WEBSITE 365, THINGS THAT YOU STEM. THEY DO A LOT OF ARTICLES ABOUT THE AREA AND WE DO SOME ADVERTISING WITH THEM. SO THAT HAS PAID OFF. AND THEN TRAVELZOO.COM IS A, UH, ONLINE BOOKING TRAVEL BOOKING SITE. AND WE DID A CAMPAIGN WITH THEM LAST YEAR. IT WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL. SO THAT LANDED IN THE TOP REFERRAL SITES. UH, LAST YEAR WAS THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE GREAT TEXAS COASTAL BIRDING TRAIL. UM, THAT WAS PUT OUT BY TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE. SO THEY WANT IT TO UPDATE THEIR, [00:15:01] UM, THEIR TRAILS AND THEIR MAP. AND WE SUBMITTED THREE SITES FROM OUR AREA AND THEY WERE SELECTED FOR INCLUSION. THEY WERE THE DOUBT WOODS, WHICH IS OFF OF OLD ANGLETON ROAD, JUST NORTH OF LAKE JACKSON, THE KELLY HAMMY TRAIL, WHICH IS NEAR TREASURE ISLAND OFF OF THE WATER HATTAWAY, AND THEN THE SURFSIDE BOURBON BUTTERFLY TRAIL, WHICH IS THAT THE JENNY'S. SO, UM, THERE ARE MORE THAN 16 SITES AND THE REST ONE AREA ON THAT PIECE AND, UM, PARKS AND WILDLIFE DOES A GREAT JOB OF PROMOTING THAT MAP. THEY'RE REALLY HARD TO GET IT. SO WE WERE LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO ADD THREE NEW SITES. SO LAST YEAR, UM, OUR TRAVEL IMPACTS, WE GOT THIS RESEARCH FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR. SO HOTEL OCCUPANCY AND THE WHOLE BREAST SUPPORT AREA, UM, IN THE FOUR CITIES THAT COLLECT THE TAX INCREASED BY 39%, WHICH SEEMS LIKE A LOT, BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE, IT DIDN'T COME AS A BIG SURPRISE BECAUSE 2020 WAS SO DOWN. SO WE SAW THAT INCREASE LAST YEAR AND WE CONTINUE TO SEE THOSE NUMBERS INCREASE THIS YEAR. SO FOR KLUTE, THE DIRECT TRAVEL SPENDING WAS THAT 21%. AND THAT WAS THE SAME FOR THE WHOLE COUNTY, WHICH INCLUDES NOT ONLY RAZ PORT AREA, BUT PARALLON AND ALVIN AS WELL. SO I MENTIONED, WE ARE A PART OF THE CHAIN, UH, DIVISION OF THE CHAMBER. THE CHAMBER SERVES OVER 700 MEMBERS FROM ALL KINDS OF BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS. WE PROVIDE SUPPORT AND PROMOTION FOR THE WHOLE BRAZOSPORT AREA FOR ECONOMIC PROSPERITY. WE WORK WITH OUR LOCAL INDUSTRY AND GOVERNMENT TO BOOTH GROSS GROWTH TO THE AREA. WE DO THAT THROUGH RESOLUTIONS LETTERS, PETITIONS AND TESTIMONIES FROM OUR CHAMBER BOARD AND STAFF. AND, UH, WE DO THAT TO INDUSTRY DECISION MAKERS AT THE LOCAL STATE FEDERAL LEVEL. WE ALSO FACILITATE QUARTERLY MEETINGS WITH THE MAYORS AND CITY MANAGERS FROM THE EIGHT CITIES THAT MAKE UP THE PROCESS SUPPORT AREA. UM, IT'S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO MEET WITH EACH OTHER AND DISCUSS, UM, ANY ACTIVITIES THAT THEY'RE HAVING OR NEEDS AND TO SEE WHERE ONE CITY CAN PARTNER WITH ANOTHER. AND WE'VE BEEN DOING THAT FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND IT'S REALLY, UH, ONE OF OUR MOST SUCCESSFUL COMMITTEES. UM, THIS IS A PHOTO OF SOME OF THE CURRENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS ON THE CHAMBER. UH, ONE PROJECT THAT WE'RE WORKING ON IS A SHOP LOCAL WEEKEND. UM, THIS IS GOING TO BE JUNE 24TH AND 3, 3 26. AND WE THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT WAY TO HELP OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES AND THE CONSUMER AS WELL. SO THAT WEEKEND, THAT FRIDAY YOU CAN COME BY THE CHAMBER, YOU CAN GRAB SOME FREE BREAKFAST, A LIST OF OUR MEMBERS AND A SHOPPING BAG. THEN YOU GO OUT, YOU HAVE FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY TO DO YOUR SHOPPING, WHICH MEANS YOU CAN GET YOUR OIL CHANGED. YOU CAN GO TO THE DOCTOR, PAY YOUR INSURANCE OR GO TO A TRADITIONAL RETAIL SHOP. UM, THEN YOU TURN IN THAT RECEIPT TO THE CHAMBER AND WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A DRAWING ON JUNE 28TH AND THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE A THOUSAND DOLLARS CASH. SO WE THOUGHT THAT, LIKE I SAID, THIS WAS A GREAT WAY TO HELP OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES AND OUR LOCAL CONSUMER TO WHO SUFFERING RIGHT NOW WITH THE INFLATION. SO WE HOPE YOU CAN HELP US PROMOTE THIS PROJECT. AND THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION. AND I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR PAST SUPPORT. AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING TOGETHER THIS YEAR TOO. AND I'LL TAKE ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. ALSO, WE HAVE THIS PRESENTATION AND OUR, UM, MARKETING PLAN THAT SANDRA IS GOING TO PASS THAT WON'T HAVE ANY QUESTIONS COME IN FOR A MOODLE. GREAT JOB. THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. OKAY. WE WILL BE MOVING TO ITEM C CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO COUNSEL OR RESCHEDULE THE JULY 28TH, 2022 CITY COUNCIL MEETING. THAT THAT IS THE THURSDAY NIGHT OF, UH, MOSQUITO FESTIVAL OPENING. UH, IT WILL BE AN AGENDA ITEM FOR THE OPENING CEREMONIES. I PRESUME CORRECT, BECAUSE WE WILL ALL BE THERE CONDUCTING CITY BUSINESS, UH, AS, AS WITH ALWAYS, IF WE DO NOT HOLD A MEETING ON A SPECIFIC NIGHT, IF WE NEED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING OR WHATEVER, WE WILL DO THAT TO TAKE CARE OF ANY BUSINESS THAT HAS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF SETTLED. UH, JUST, JUST FOR FOOD FOR THOUGHT, AS FAR AS [00:20:01] CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE. I MEAN, IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE WITH WHAT YOU WANT TO CALL IT, WHETHER IT'S CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE. IF WE NEED TO HAVE A MEETING WE'LL SCHEDULE ONE. SO KEPT SOMEONE CARED TO MAKE A MOTION TO MAKE IT SOMEWHERE YOU WANT IT CANCELED AND RESCHEDULED OR CANCELED, AND YOU CAN RESCHEDULE. I HAVE A MOTION BY COUNSEL MCQUINN THAT WE CANCELED THE JULY, THE 28TH OFFICIAL MEETING. I'LL SECOND. WE HAVE SECOND BY COUNCILMAN CHRIS DISCUSSION HEARING NONE. I'LL ENTERTAIN A VOTE ALL IN FAVOR. WE'LL SEE. Y'ALL ALL ON THE 28TH AT THE MOSQUITO. I'M SURE. KILL THAT PERSON ESCAPE. OKAY. [V.
