[VI. BUSINESS ITEMS]

ITEM WOULD BE BUSINESS ITEMS. AND AS YOU CAN TELL, WE'RE EXTREMELY BUSY TONIGHT.

FIRST ITEM IS CONSIDERATION OF POSSIBLE ACTION TO ADOPT RESOLUTION NUMBER 39 DASH 2023 AUTHORIZING THE MAYORS AND OR CITY MANAGER SIGNATURE ON THE SITE USE AGREEMENT WITH FORT BEND COUNTY FOR VEHICLE STORAGE DURING AN EMERGENCY OR DISASTER.

IF Y'ALL REMEMBER, WE HAD THIS AGENDA TO A COUPLE OF WEEKS, TWO OR THREE WEEKS AGO.

WE WERE WAITING ON THEM TO FINALIZE THE

[00:10:01]

CONTRACT.

EVERYTHING IS BEEN PLACED IN ORDER LEGAL AS REVIEWED THE CONTRACT AND THIS WOULD BE THE OFFICIAL AGREEMENT.

I THINK WE'RE EXPIRED IN THREE YEARS.

THEN AUGUST OF 26TH.

THIS, THIS WILL BE, THIS WILL BE EXTENDED, UH, EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT FOR THREE YEARS.

YES, SIR.

OKAY.

UH, AND IT WOULD BE RESOLUTION NUMBER 39 DASH 2023.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLU APPROVING INTER-LOCAL SITE USE AGREEMENT WITH FOR BEND COUNTY FOR THE STORAGE OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT DURING AN EMERGENCY OR, OR DISASTER.

WHEREAS THE CITY OF CLU, TEXAS IS DESIRES OF HAVING A REMOTE STAGING AREA FOR VITAL VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT REMOVED FROM THE STRONGEST IMPACTS FROM POTENTIAL TROPICAL WEATHER.

WHEREAS THE CITY HAS PREVIOUSLY PARTNERED WITH FORT BEND COUNTY FOR SUCH A ASIDE IN THEIR COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS NEAR ROSENBERG UNDER SUCH AN AGREEMENT.

AND WHEREAS FORT BEND IS A DESIRE TO RENEWING THAT AGREEMENT NOW THE, FOR IT BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF KLUTE, TEXAS, THAT THE INTER-LOCAL AGREEMENT FOR SITE USE ATTACHED HERE TWO IS APPROVED.

AND FURTHER THAT THE MAYOR AND OR CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO SIGN SET AGREEMENT.

THIS SOLUTION DULY PASSED THE 10TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2023 AND IT WOULD BE SIGNED BY MYSELF AND ATTEST BY ROSIE POINT, CITY CLERK.

ANYONE CARE TO MAKE A MOTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION NUMBER 39 DASH 2023.

SO I MOVE BY COUNCILMAN CRISP AND I'LL SECOND SECONDED BY COUNCIL PERSON.

MADDOX DISCUSSION.

DID YOU, MAYOR? I DID HAVE A QUESTION.

I YOU ARE BOTH.

GOOD ANSWER.

BUT JUST IN THE CONTRACT I READ THAT IT WAS AN NON-EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT FOR FLEET.

WHAT EXACTLY DOES DOES THAT? SO, SO THERE SHOULD BE A MAP ATTACHED WITH THAT.

THAT SHOWS OUR AREA.

RIGHT.

UM, THEY HAVE CONTRACTS WITH SEVERAL OTHER GROUPS, BUT WE ALL HAVE AN AREA MARKED OFF.

IT'S JUST WE DON'T HAVE EXCLUSIVE USE.

OH.

FOR THE WHOLE PLACE OF THE WHOLE PLACE.

OKAY.

I I JUST THOUGHT IT MEANT LIKE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO LOT A NO, WE, WE HAVE OUR SPOT AND THEN LIKE I SAID, THEY HAVE AGREEMENTS WITH OTHER FOLKS TO GET OFF THE COAST AND TO BRING STUFF UP.

OKAY.

NO, THAT OTHER QUESTION.

YEAH.

DO WE, THIS IS ALL I, IT'S KIND OF OFF TOPIC.

DO WE KEEP ANY EMERGENCY VEHICLES HERE DURING HURRICANE OR WHATEVER OR DO WE MOVE 'EM ALL? NO, WE JUST DO NOT MOVE 'EM ALL.

THERE'S , UH, EQUIPMENT THAT WE KEEP HERE AS FAR AS THE, UH, THE STAFF THAT WOULD STAY HERE ON THERE.

THAT'D BE THE, UH, RECOVERY AND UH, RECON GROUP AND EVERYTHING THAT WOULD STAY HERE.

UH, CERTAIN PATROL CARS AND WE KEEP THE MINIMUM AS FAR AS THAT APPARATUS AND EVERYTHING THAT WE PROVIDE AND EVERYTHING.

THE SEARCH AND, OKAY.

WE'RE WORKING WITH THAT.

YEAH.

ALL THE OTHER APPARATUS IN CAROLINA MOVED OUT AS WORTH THE HIGH GROUND.

OKAY.

YEAH, I MEAN WE USED TO HAVE A, LIKE A HALF TRACK TRUCK OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, THAT WOULD, THAT WE ALWAYS KEPT HERE BECAUSE IT WAS HIGH WATER VEHICLE.

UH, THERE WE A DUMP TRUCK IN CAROLINA, REMAIN HERE AND STUFF LIKE THAT.

BUT AS FAR AS IF , WE GET THE, UH, GARBAGE TRUCKS OUT HERE.

UH, THE OTHER FIRE TRUCKS THAT WE DON'T NEED, THE AMBULANCES AND AND UH, PATROL CARS, WE USUALLY KEEP, WE USUALLY KEEP ENOUGH STUFF HERE, LIKE TO CLEAR THE ROADS.

IF WE HAVE TO CLEAR THE ROADS, UH, MAKE SURE THE POWER LINES ARE, IF ANYTHING POWER LINES ARE DOWN, WE CAN GET THEM OFF THE ROAD.

UH, THERE'S ENOUGH VEHICLES LEFT HERE TO FUEL THE, TO FUEL ALL THE, THE REMOTE GENERATORS AND THAT KIND OF STUFF.

SO, I MEAN, NOT ALL OF IT GOES, BUT WE SEND ENOUGH UP, WE SEND ENOUGH UP THERE THAT IT WON'T DEVASTATE US IF, IF IT GETS DESTROYED.

THAT MAKES SENSE.

AND IT GIVES US AN ESCAPE ROUTE.

IT'S LIKE A CATEGORY FIVE DOWN.

YOU CAN'T MOVE EVERYTHING.

GET OUTTA TOWN FOR 12, 15 HOURS.

COME RIGHT BACK.

YEAH.

SO, AND IT'S ALL ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY.

SO I MEAN, IF THE ROADS AREN'T, THE ROADS AREN'T TORN UP BETWEEN HERE AND THERE, WE CAN GET 'EM BACK HERE IN TWO HOURS.

ALRIGHT.

WE USED TO KEEP 'EM IN WEST COLUMBIA AND THEY HAVE BEEN, OH, BETWEEN, BETWEEN WEST COLUMBIA, DAMON, THEY HAVE BEEN, UH, THAT AREA AND WE HAVE TAKEN THEM UP ALL THE WAY TO, UH, TO BURG.

YEAH.

I I DIDN'T SEE A COST AMOUNT ON THERE.

IS THERE, THERE'S NO COSTA THEY ONLY CALL, WE COME BACK IN IF WE USE THE MOTEL STUFF RIGHT THERE FOR THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE THAT ARE STAYING WITH THE VEHICLE.

RIGHT.

YEAH.

OKAY.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, COMMENTS? HAVE A MOTION IN A SECOND.

I'LL ENTERTAIN VOTE.

ALL IN FAVOR? AYE.

IT'S UNANIMOUS.

HOPE WE DON'T HAVE TO USE IT, BUT IF WE DO, WE HAVE IT.

.
