AND IT WOULD BE RESOLUTION NUMBER 38 DASH 2024 RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF CITY CL TEXAS AUTHORIZING DEMER TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN BRAZORIA COUNTY AND TEXAS HEALTH DEPARTMENT BCHD.

WHEREAS UNDER CHAPTER 1 21 OF THE TEXAS HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE AND INTERLOCAL CORPORATION ACT, GOVERNMENT CODE 7 9 1 0 0 1 EC GOVERNS DISAGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZES THE CITY TO CONTRACT WITH THE GOVERNING BODY OF BRAZORIA COUNTY TO PLAN AND PREPARE FOR A PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY WHICH MAY RESULT FROM NATURAL OR MANMADE CAUSES.

AND WHEREAS EVERY FIVE YEARS LAST SIGNED IN 2019, THE BRAZORIA COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, BCHD RENEWS OUR STANDING INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH EACH CITY TOWN VILLAGE WITHIN BRAZORIA COUNTY.

WHEREAS IN THE CASE OF PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCIES, DISASTER RESPONSE BCHD WILL SUPPORT THE CITY OF INCLUDE, WILL PROVIDE SERVICES TO OUR FIRST RESPONDERS, FIRE, EMS POLICE, ET CETERA, BEFORE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN ORDER TO ENSURE FIRST RESPONDERS ARE PROTECTED AND ABLE TO RESPOND TO THE SITUATION PROPERLY.

WHEREAS IN EXCHANGE AND IN ORDER TO FACILITATE THE SUPPORT, THE CITY INCLUDE DEGREES TO PROVIDE A SUFFICIENT SITE FOR BCHD TO SET UP AND PROVIDE THE CITY WITH SUPPORT IF I ASK.

AND WHEREAS THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT PROVIDES FLEXIBILITY TO RESPOND AND OPENS THE DOOR TO A CONTINUOUS DIALOGUE OF MUTUAL SUPPORT AND AID AS WE ALL COME TOGETHER IN THE FACE OF EMERGENCIES, DISASTERS, AND OTHER INCIDENTS BOTH FOR BCHD AND SETTING UP PUB AND SETTING UP TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND THE CITY AND OUR ABILITY TO ACCESS THOSE SERVICES.

WHEREAS THE INTER LOCAL AGREEMENT, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE 7 9 1 0.001, THAT SEC AUTHORIZES THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN UNLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY.
